Oregon's House Judiciary Committee will hear testimony on a bill removing the three-day time limit for completion of a background check on the purchase of a firearm.
Oregon law currently gives the benefit of the doubt to gun buyers, letting the buyer take possession of the firearm if the background check hasn't been completed within 3 business days.
Every gun buyer purchasing a gun from a store or a stranger should have to pass a background check, every single time. Let's stand up for our background check system and common sense safety in Oregon.
Join us for the hearing or sign up to testify. The hearing starts at 3 p.m., but you can arrive as early as 1 p.m. to line up for a seat in the hearing room. We need your voice! RSVP and an organizer will be in touch with more details as we have them.
